FROM AROUND THE WORLD #6

4TH QUARTER SCRAMBLE

So I spent the majority of last night shopping, trying to pick up the final round of gifts for Christmas Day. I got most of it done inside a local bookstore that’s having a huge storewide sale (ends today)!

Gotta love the Classic Jordan/Bird/Johnson series as well as the newer Street Series featuring the highlight reels of the younger, budding generation of ballers.  These two sets will serve as a much needed source of entertainment that’ll keep me enthralled upon the tube when I get back to Chicago.  Ugh, another cold winter that I haven’t come to miss at all. Maybe a little.

APPROXIMATELY 11,000 WORDS

As 2008 slowly comes to an end, I reflect on the personal and global events that have occurred during this past year. I think it’s safe to say that we have and will continue to experience both triumphs and struggles in the next few years. It will definitely make for a great story to tell future generations. A segment of The Boston Globe focuses on current events through explicit, raw, breathtaking photos.  If you would like to visually recap the events of 2008, check out their photo blog The Big Picture. It is simply amazing!  Here are some shots that I’ve extracted from their latest three-part feature, “2008 in Photos”.  The following images were just a few that caught my eye.  You can view the rest of the photos here.
