THE LONG ROAD TO REDEMPTION

It’s safe to say that as Bulls fans we’ve been thoroughly spoiled for the better half of the last decade. With Mike and Co. leading the way, we quickly racked up two Threepeats in 8 short years. Over the course of our reign the playing field oftentimes looked unfair, embarrassing even. As fans, we didn’t expect anything less than another NBA Title. Many of us wouldn’t allow ourselves to believe that Mike was mortal and that our incredible run would ever expire. But as the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.”
Well this “End” came and it hit hard, hard like Shaq on Stuckey. Witnessing the Bulls through their rebuilding process was painful, but we stuck through each season hoping that the following year would yield better results. We cycled through a countless number of players like a bad part time job to eventually settle on the bottom of the Eastern Conference. But in 2005 we saw a small glimmer of hope when we clinched our first playoff spot after a 7 year drought. Yea we lost in the first round to Agent 0′s Wizards but we were eager for the next year to start. After many long years without any post season action we are reminded to relish each and every win. Though the future is uncertain, we can all agree that things have been looking a lot better.
