SELF CONSCIOUS - CHICAGO

smeeze-sc-01
Step through the doors of 1021 W Lake St in downtown Chicago and you’ll find yourself in a space that pumps out cool vibes with walls lined with sneakers and a knowledgeable staff to help.  Self Conscious is the newest addition to our line of stockists.

This is Ben, he’s one of the guys who keeps watch over the store and is one of the most down to earth cats you’ll ever meet.  After a quick tour around the store we ended up by a little fridge.

Inside were rows of ice cold aluminum bottles, each filled with a sweet citric elixer waiting to quench the thirst of its next patron.  The new Sprite Green has half the calories of its original, and is able to retain their flavor with all natural sweeteners.  If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen them yet, its because they’re not scheduled to hit the shelves until 2010.  If you stop by the shop, you might get lucky like me and get a chance to taste it yourself.  There’s nothing that can beat a cool refreshing drink during the apex of a sweltering summer day.

AND WE’RE BACK

For those of you following this blog, you may have noticed some changes upon your visit today.  Nope, that’s no typo in your address bar, you’ve arrived at the newest version of our site. Its kinda like walking into the new restructured Starbucks…is it just me or is the staff taking a healthy dose of prozac before clocking in now? What I’m trying to say is — same place, different feel.  Over the past few months I’ve been working on a new design that would better represent the brand. So after getting my helping of caffeine from the nicest barista ever,  I opened up Photoshop and began to layout the wireframe for this new design.  After making many, many changes in between the making of the change, i eventually chose the layout you see right now…Hope you guys like it as much as i do, for now.

If you take a quick look at the left side bar, you may notice two new segments - Snaps & Stickyicky.

The Snaps page will be a collage of pictures that allow our readers to get a glimpse of the randomness that outline the brand.

The Stickicky bit is dedicated to our ever-growing collection of vinyl trinkets.  Any new additions to our sticky inventory will be archived there.

If you have a few moments between tweeting check it out.

EXPENSIVE STENCILS

If you’re in the UK, specifically Bristol, there’s a Banksy exhibit going on at Bristol’s City Museum & Art Gallery. Love it or hate it, this is definitely worth checking out. What’s interesting to me though is that for an artist that allegedly wishes to remain anonymous, there’s enough information for him to have his own Wikipedia page?

WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK

new site underway…back in 24…ish…in the meantime ill show you something i drew up last night. i call him ballhead.
