THEN. NOW. FOREVER.

St. Alfred and Gatorade are putting together an EPIC event to celebrate the almighty #23. Rightly so, considering the skinny rookie from North Carolina forever changed the sneaker industry with the introduction of the Air Jordan 1′s, saving Nike from their fading popularity. The first release in 84′ flew off the shelves instantly and was even banned from the NBA because it was considered too ostentatious at the time. As a kid, there was something special, almost magical about wearing a fresh pair of Jays. All OG sneaker heads have their favorite pairs and stories surrounding these fabled shoes. To understand the craze you have to accept it for what it is, a piece of pop history, a childhood memory, and a manifest representation of the greatest basketball player ever. Congrats on your induction MJ.
(If you can’t make it, pictures will be posted here in a few days.)
